Barajas airport in Madrid
Barajas airport is located 12km east of Madrid city centre. It
handles international and domestic flights. In
the International Arrivals building you will find 24-hour currency
exchange facilities, a tourist information office and a Railway
reservations office. There are three ways to get from Barajas to
Madrid: by subway, bus, or taxi.
Buses from the airport
Every 15 minutes and costing about 2€.
The bus runs to Plaza Colon, in the centre. The same bus runs back
to the airport, from the same place, starting at 4.45am, through to

Find
then follow the Metro signs in the Airport, then buy a ticket for
1.10 Euros. Beats a bus or taxi anyday!
Car Hire
There are several leading car hire companies based at the
airport.
Taxi
There is a large taxi rank outside the terminal building. Taxis
work on a queue system so choose the taxi at the front of the queue.
Expect to pay 20€ for a taxi, plus surcharges for luggage handling.

Today, there are over 100 Madrid Airport shops,
more than 40 cafeterias and restaurants, different banking entities,
travel agents, and tour operators offering on basis their products
and services to more than 40 million potential clients.
Madrid Airport has seven meeting rooms, an
auditorium with the required material for presentations, a modern
business centre, and a press room for holding press conferences. In
addition, passengers travelling on business have at their
disposition an information office for "Ifema-Feria de Madrid" and
the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
